Video Deconstruction

For my video deconstruction, I definitely had the idea on how the media portrays people, specifically women. So with this idea, my original video was going to be how the media portrays women, but how most of their information is false. Not a lot of people notice how fake pictures can be with photoshop and they think that the person actually looks like that. With the videos that I found online, I noticed that people felt very influenced by how the media portrays women but not in a good way. I noticed that a lot of these women started feeling bad about themselves and how they ended up just feeling very insecure. With this new information that I noticed I decided to change my idea slightly. So the video that I did was, "How the media portrays women can affect their insecurities and self-love."  The videos that I used in my video were all found online on youtube and a lot of the voices that I used were just bits of ted talks. The message that I wanted to get across was self-love

Performance Art with Marcus

Image
Performance Art is a very interesting concept. From what we've learned in class it's kind of like a public experiment to see how people react. My 3 favorite videos that we watched in class was the flash mob, the orchestra, and the frozen people at the train station. The flash mob video that we watched in class with Oprah and the black-eyed peas was very funny and cool. At first, it just looked like there was one crazy fan dancing by herself, but as the song went on each section joined her dancing. I liked how there were so many people involved with it and the reactions they got towards their performance. The next performance art piece that I really enjoyed in class was the orchestra. In the beginning, there was only one person playing an instrument and one by one more people would come out and join him and they made a whole ensemble by the end. I also liked watching people's reaction towards this piece because of how surprised they would get as another person would join the

Music

Latin World: Daddy Yankee Girl Power: Avril Lavigne Nineties:  Destiny’s Child, Spice Girls, Backstreet boys, NSYNC Electronic: Martin Garrix Punk: Paramore   Daddy Yankee - Gasolina When I think of any Spanish music my mind always goes towards the songs Gasolina or Danza Kudoro, which are my favorites. One of my favorite Spanish artist’s is Daddy Yankee. Most people know Daddy Yankee from the song Despacito, ft. Justin Bieber. The technology used in this video were the cars that were racing each other in the video. She influenced a lot of younger girls with her music and style. The technology that is used in this video is during her “concert”. In the video she stops in the middle of the street with a

X2

Ascii art is a very interesting type of art, and in my opinion it’s very cool. This is the type of “computer art” I first saw when I was younger. I didn’t know that it had a name to it but Ascii art was very popular during my childhood. I always wanted to learn how to do it but it is more complex than you would think. Ascii art is one of those things that take a lot more time to do then one would think. Also, some people wouldn’t consider Ascii to be a art, but for me I do consider it as art but that’s just my opinion. While looking through the pictures of this art you can tell how the bigger pictures take a lot more time. The bigger pictures take a lot of time because I bet that there’s a lot of planning to do before hand. You don’t just start typing random numbers, letters, and symbols. You have to know which symbols work the best and the placement of them. I feel like there would be a lot of guessing and checking with this art, which is a lot easier than doing other art. With ot

Xerox

Image
For the Xerox project, I only used what was on my face to make my project. I made about 7 copies of my face from the Xerox machine and then I decided what to do after I made the copies. At first, I had a completely different idea and was going to use my face and hands with something. Then I saw that we were doing it on art movements so I started to research some. The most interesting one that I found was cubism or cubist. The most famous artist that used this type of technique in his art was Picasso. After I went through some of his artwork I picked out my favorite pieces and tried to be inspired by that. So with my project, I ended up cutting out pieces of my eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth. After that, I taped it over one of the copied pictures that didn't turn out very well. As you can see from the pictures above you can kind of see how I did things. I actually liked doing this project I thought that it was very interesting and fun. I kind of wish I would've

Grid art

For my grid project, I decided to make a rainbow. I was having a conversation with my friends and someone mentioned that there was going to be a pride parade in Tampa next weekend. This is what gave me the idea to make a rainbow. So for my project, the supplies I got was a poster board, paint, a magazine, froot loops, and cotton balls. The first thing that I did for this project is cut my poster board so it wasn't too big. Then I painted the background blue. After seeing the background I thought that it was too boring and wanted to add more to it. So, I got a magazine and anything that was blue in it, I cut it out. I broke the pictures into smaller pieces and taped it over the paint. I liked how this looked a lot better after. Next, I separated the froot loops into the different colors and glued those down in the ROYGBV order. Lastly, I added cotton balls for the clouds.

Flip Book

The flip book I created was about the ocean. I decided to do different things that had to do with ocean and ocean life. I added in sea life, boats, and fishing. I decided to do my flip book on the ocean because of my past trip during Spring Break. For spring break I went to Mexico and I spent a lot of my time hanging out at the beach so I decided that the ocean/beach would be a fun topic to do my flip book on.
